3D Printed Stuffs

It will take anywhere between 10 minutes to 12 hours to print an object inside of a 3D printer.
It will cost $45 per kg of reel or 45cents per meter of reel
It will come from a 3D printer company
You will need to send the dimensions, materials, CAD drawings and the adress(most likely)
They will use ABS or PLA for the 3D print. ABS have higher melting points and less adhesive while PLA has a faster cooling time, better sticking power, creates a smoother piece and a faster printing time.
Depending on what printer model they use it can be less than a cubic foot in volume up to 5 cubic feet.
Pros;Faster, more durable
Cons; More Wasteful
The 3D printed I received did not meet some of my expectations. My printed object looks very good though.

Final Blog Post

I have been working towards the goals I set out at the beginning of the year. I have completed several of these goals but most importantly I have learnt enough skills to use in the outside world.
I now know that designing things can be tedious and take a long time to get one part. I also learnt that there can be many ways to view an object made.
I do not know what I will learn in Principles of Engineering but I will try and learn different techniques to help me.

Maker Faire

1. The table should have a banner that says our game title. There should be two or more computers so that more people can play at once. There should also be a poster documenting our work and showing our goals.
2. My goal was CAD-ing several parts. I made the armor pieces and some other parts. I started with this after I finished creating a map for the game and now I have made many pieces.
3.We met most of the requirements except the timeline was not met.
4. Everyone should have been more involved with the game as opposed to some people doing nothing or pretending to do something.
5.My greatest achievement during this process was learning more about CAD-ing objects.
This is all of the work I've done

Weekly Progress 2

During this week I struggled to add textures to curved surfaces, but after some research I was able to find out how to add texture. I finished the armor pieces on the top and the bottom. The color is not going to be the actual color but these are all the different angles of the pieces.

Weekly Progress

During this week I struggled to make the chest piece of the characters. I made several mistakes and ended up with two decently looking chest pieces. On Monday I was able to finish the skirt.

This is one of the better looking chest pieces.

This is another of the chest pieces. I think it looks slightly better but it may not fit with the story.

This is a failed attempt at the chest piece. It was very uneven but it came out decently at the end, however I did not notice the unevenness so I attempted to fix it but could not.
This is the finished for the character. It is around the same measurements as the failed attempt but this can be worn by most people.

This is a failed attempt at the skirt. It was too big for any person to wear.

Maker Faire Reflection

During the week I was able to sketch out some of the parts for the guards or player. I began to work on the lower part of the armor but I was not able to finish. I wish I could have helped out more during the week. My goal for next week is to find the missing map if it has not been found already and to finish the lower part.

Maker Faire Design Team

For the FPP I would want to be either part of the art team or the user interface/user experience team. I would want to be part of these teams because I have several years of experience with video games so I knows how the mechanics and environment would work.
